History

Talisman Land Resource Consultants Inc., founded in Vancouver in 1976, is celebrating 25 years in the environmental consulting business. During this period, we have established a solid reputation based on our commitment to sound environmental management. Our services are used by a variety of public and private clients in the transportation, energy, agriculture, forestry, mining and land development sectors. Consulting assignments have ranged from providing complete environmental assessment and mitigation planning on large projects, to supplying individual expertise on a wide variety of environmental issues.

Our strengths are in resource inventory, assessment and environmental planning, leading to environmentally sustainable development. We offer turnkey services from conceptual planning through to site selection, mitigation design, permitting and regulatory approvals, as well as construction monitoring.

Our experts specialize in the classification and assessment of natural resources including terrain, soils, hydrology, aquatic biology, fisheries, vegetation and wildlife. Most of our consulting assignments involve the interpretation of resource suitabilities for human use, including settlement, recreation, agriculture, forestry, and conservation, and the assessment of impacts on resource features related to land development projects. Our accredited professionals maintain up-to-date knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation, resource assessment methodologies and permitting requirements. They are experienced in dispute resolution and litigation support in cases involving land use or resource conflicts and regularly appear as expert witnesses before judicial bodies, formal boards or panels and the public.

Our mapping presentation team is well known for our wide range of capabilities in producing resource maps using the latest CAD, GIS and graphic techniques.

Perhaps the greatest testament to the firm's successes are those projects to which we have contributed that have been successfully planned and implemented.
